Wood requires experts. Specialists are in demand, whether in forest management, logistics or treatment and processing. In particular, forestry workers (formerly known as lumberjacks) have the task, among other things, of felling timber without loss of value and under very strenuous physical conditions. This does not just hold true for Germany or Europe either; experts and specialists are employed in harvesting wood worldwide. So what could make more sense than for these experts to meet periodically, share experiences, maintain international contacts and test their professional skills in a fair competition?

Professional competitions for forestry workers or in forestry are carried out, as in other fields, in various parts of the world. Initially they were held as national events, later also as joint events organized by some neighboring countries. More ...
